The first book focuses on mental health, specifically, Bi-polar disorder. A portion of the proceeds of the sales will go to Mental Health America of Fredericksburg Region.

What is a Cause Club?

Cause Clubs function like traditional book clubs but marry novels with social purpose. Each chosen novel connects to a nonprofit organization in the Fredericksburg area related to its themes. Members will have an opportunity to read great books and engage in conversation about important topics.

What type of books will be selected for Cause Clubs?

Novels that address important topics like mental health, cancer, LBGTQ, grief, addiction, homelessness, etc. will be selected for these clubs.

Why Cause Club?

Through these book clubs, the hope is to build empathy and understanding of topics that can be difficult to discuss. The idea is that those who participate will grow from the stories and conversations.

How are nonprofits part of these clubs?

A portion of the proceeds for book sales will go to a nonprofit* in our community whose mission relates to the cause or theme of the novel. In addition, information about the featured nonprofit will be available to participants during the book club. Using social media, we will highlight the nonprofit to raise awareness about programs in our community.
